Award in Independent Advocacy
The Level 2 Award in Independent Advocacy is an introductory qualification for learners who are interested in acquiring knowledge about the role of an Independent Advocate.
The qualification covers the principles of independent advocacy, the independent advocacy role, communication and equality and inclusion within independent advocacy.
It allows you to progress to the Level 3 Certificate in Independent Advocacy or the Level 3 Diploma in Independent Advocacy.
This unit is ideal for learners who are not working in the independent advocacy but are looking to begin a career or role in independent advocacy. It is also ideal for learners who use advocacy skills as part of their role and wish to develop a deeper understanding of advocacy skills.
The Award is a useful course for carers or professionals who work alongside Independent Advocates and would like a better understanding of the Independent Advocacy role.
It is also attractive to peer or self advocates who would like to achieve a formal qualification in Independent Advocacy to recognise existing skills.
To complete the Award you will complete an on line e-learning course and then produce a written assignment which is assessed. We can help you produce this and you will receive 1:1 assessor support and guidance throughout. If you have specific needs, let us know so we can work with you and put in place the right level of support to help you complete.
