June 2017 – Community Care Webinar – targeting all social workers and people who work alongside Advocates
19th June brings a free webinar Kate will be delivering to Community Care members looking at Independent Advocacy and duties to refer. We are hoping to reach hundreds of social workers, health professionals and carers who want to learn more about the independent advocacy, deepen understanding about Care Act duties and increase referrals to Advocates.

May 2015 – Advocacy under the Care Act
Delighted to be working with so many organisations to deliver in house training supporting Advocates under the Care Act. If you are interested in arranging tailored or in house training get in touch.
April 2015 – Advocacy under the Care Act
City & Guilds have launched a new specialist unit (313 Providing Independent Advocacy under the Care Act) to support advocates who will be providing advocacy support as introduced from April 2015.
To date KMT has delivered training to over 300 advocates in the new role.
March 2015 – Qualification and Training delivered with Deaf Positives
We are delighted to be working in partnership with Deaf Positives to offer training and qualifications to Deaf, Hard of Hearing and hearing people. The training will be led by a Deaf tutor who is an Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA) and holds the tutor/assessor qualification in Independent Advocacy. The training will be delivered in British Sign Language. For more info get in touch.

Healthwatch England have published their proposed set of standards to inform the delivery of Complaints Advocacy. You can download them here.

Work is progressing to develop training materials to support advocates working under the Care Act. We are currently working with Flexible Films and young people to develop a media resource.
